Cardiovascular disease and one of its complications – STROKE – is the leading causes of death around the globe, with some estimates that it putting the number of lives as high as 17.3 million each year*.
In Malaysia, 36% of total death is caused by cardiovascular disease as reported by World Health Organization (WHO) in 2014. Up to this day, Malaysians are still struggling to combat stroke and heart disease within their health system.
Eventually, 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke could be avoided by controlling the risk factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, salt intake, physical inactivity and raised blood pressure*.
